“Don’t Break Your Piggy Bank
Over South Beach Diet Recipes!”

No question, the South Beach diet has taken the world by storm. The popularity of the South Beach Diet has knocked diet heavyweights like Atkins off the charts. Why? I think the only reason the South Beach Diet has become so infamous is not because South Beach diet recipes work so well. Rather, because South Beach, which is a very exclusive area in Florida, is all glitz and glamour and has a very inviting seductive appeal, kind of like Tinsel Town. But like the saying goes, “All that glitters ain’t gold.” The South Beach Diet and South Beach diet recipes consist of low carbohydrates and high protein. While the South Beach diet recipes sound good, there are some serious drawbacks.

Breaking Your Piggy Bank

Membership to the South Beach Diet alone costs $65 quarterly – that’s just over $20 per month. The only way to obtain South Beach diet recipes is through membership. The $65 quarterly fee is the cheapest membership fee. Once you’ve enrolled for the basic membership plan, you are “encouraged” to purchase South Beach Diet recipes contained in their best seller book “The South Beach Diet.” You’re also told that you cannot follow the diet without the book. The book can cost up to $68 in stores and online depending on where purchased.

Once you’ve got the actual book, you’ll need to buy the South Beach Diet Cookbook in order to make the South Beach diet recipes that are on your daily food plan. This book costs an additional $59 on Amazon. We haven’t even discussed the price of their highly recommended and heavily promoted nutritionist they insist you consult before signing up. Do the math!

A Recipe for Disaster

Another serious drawback with respect to several of the South Beach Diet recipes on this food plan is that these recipes require purchasing South Beach Diet food products, which makes grocery shopping extremely expensive. Most of the snacks advocated in your daily food plan consist of South Beach Diet foods. Although they claim their recipes don’t require you to purchase their prepackaged foods, the reality is, their daily menu requires you to eat their snacks.

In addition, they market South Beach diet recipes via their brand products so aggressively, you end up feeling obligated to buy them not only because of their aggressive marketing tactics, but because the recipes that look the most appealing are too complicated to make, e.g., Mahi Mahi.

Don’t Believe the Hype

Remember when Atkins came out? In the aftermath of Dr. Atkins and his diet, we’ve become low-carb crazed. South Beach Diet is really not that different from other low-carb plans, so why all the hype about South Beach Diet recipes?

Well, it’s not exactly the South Beach Diet recipes that have people flocking to the diet, it’s the underlying assumption of what people think they will get when they purchase South Beach Diet foods – an amazing beach body and the ability to mingle with beautiful people on the beach! That’s why they use the phrase “living well.” They’re selling you glitz and glamour. Don’t believe the hype and don’t break your piggy bank for South Beach diet recipes.
