The 5 Musts of Free Weight Loss Plans

Free weight loss plans can be found on the internet in abundance. That can be a good thing or a bad thing. There are a lot of unhealthy diets out there. You’re probably wondering which weight loss plan is the right one for you?

To be healthy, a diet must have the following 5 components: a selection of good fats, lean protein, lots of complex carbohydrate (fruit and vegetables), an exercise program, and a huge reduction in sugar.

You Need Fat

A certain amount of fat is needed in your diet. There’s no getting around that. The reason we need fat in our diet is because fat protects our organs! Without enough fat, women lose their menstrual cycle.

Women need a higher percentage of fat on their bodies more so than men. This is what enables one to distinguish between the sexes. Our breast requires fat, our hips require fat, and our buns require fat. Unfortunately, the American Diet has way too much fat. About 1/3 of calories should come from fat. In America, 65% of our diet consists of fat!

Bad Rap From the 80s

Fat had gotten a bad rep during the 80s. People panicked because some doctor said that fat was the cause of cardiovascular disease. That statement is true, to a certain degree. Too much fat will give you a heart attack. The wrong fats will give you a heart attack as well.

There is such thing as good fats though. Still, consumption of too much good fat is not healthy for you either. The fee based diet plans know this, so they are going to promote the healthy fats, such as monounsaturated fats, because they need to build their credibility with consumers.

But what about free weight loss plans online? Since they are free, the owners of the site are not accountable to anyone, so they can advocate whatever food plan suits them. But you need healthy fats in your diet such as avocado, olive oil, and nuts. Avoid margarine or any fat that solidifies at room temperature.

Got Buffalo?

I know the American palette is not used to eating low fat proteins such as buffalo. In fact, buffalo is still not a mainstream food. But buffalo is a very lean source of protein. Protein is necessary to build muscle. Protein also satiates you. You can include meat in your diet. Try eating buffalo, chicken and turkey more often. Also, beans, especially soybeans are an excellent source of protein! Be sure to include reduced-fat cheeses and dairy products to meet your daily calcium intake.

A Word About Fruits and Vegetables

In the 90s the low-carb craze took off and people were throwing out carbs left and right. Unfortunately, they were throwing out the good carbs with the bad carbs. Just like there are good fats and bad fats, there are good carbs and bad carbs. You’ve got to know the difference. Good carbs are fruits and vegetables (complex carbohydrates). Bad carbs are highly processed, sugary fatty foods like cookies, cakes, potato chips, etc. Many free weight loss programs stress the inclusion of complex carbohydrates, but some don’t. Make sure yours does.

Eliminate Sugar

Lastly, a lot of free weight loss plans don’t stress this enough, but it’s crucial to reduce your sugar intake. Why? For starters, sugar turns to fat! But more importantly, sugar gives you a big energy boost initially, but then you come crashing down dramatically and you end up feeling tired, irritable and with less energy than before you ate that candy bar. A good diet plan will include all of these healthy components.
